ELIZABETH LAKE, Los Angeles County — California’s final 2026 Integrated Water Quality Report contains an assessment of Elizabeth Lake that includes a specific-conductivity finding, a measure related to the amount of dissolved material in water.
According to the State Water Resources Control Board’s supporting factsheet, a line of evidence assessed data from the U.S. Geological Survey and identified four exceedances out of four samples for the relevant conductivity screening threshold. The underlying samples were assembled for an earlier reporting cycle; the state’s 2026 publication should not be mistaken for four water samples collected in November 2026.
What these results mean and do not mean
Specific conductivity is an indicator, not an identification of a particular contaminant. A limited historic sample cannot establish a resident’s tap-water safety, whether fish are safe to consume, or the lake’s present water level. The complete state factsheet contains multiple pollutant-specific assessments and distinct listing decisions.
People who need to evaluate household drinking water should identify the actual drinking-water utility serving their property and review that system’s current Consumer Confidence Report. Residents concerned about lake conditions can consult state water-board records and county environmental agencies.
